The "Swamp Rat™" is designed similar to the Slop Hog II™, but has a somewhat different action. The "Swamp Rat™ is a solid, soft plastic, collapsible weed-guard, top-water/sub-top water lure. We designed it to have a swimming action that makes it irresistible to bass when fished over the tops of submerged vegetation. It is also excellent for "skipping" under boat docks and overhanging trees.

The "Swamp Rat™" has a skirted tail for action and bouyancy. The "Swamp Rat™" has an easily replaceable skirt. This gives the angler the flexibility of changing the type of plastic trailer he wants to use such as: craw, ribbon worm, etc.

The hooking system is a 6/0 Wide-gap, Mustad Ultra-Point hook. This provides the maximum hooking and holding power available.

The old hook system has been replaced with a 6/0 Wide Gap, Mustad Ultra Point hook. This has proven to greatly increase the hooking and holding power of the bait.

These are the same tails we use on both the Slop Hogg II™ and Swamp Rat™. They just screw-on to the body of both lures. Now the angler can quickly change body/tail color combinations to fit the situation. He also has handy replacements when a fish bites the tail off. They are enclosed in a convenient zip-lok bag for easy storage in the tackle box.
